Our story

A practice built around one conviction.

Dr. Sivadas V Kokoori — MBBS and MD/DGO from Calicut Medical College, with advanced fellowship training at GEM Hospital Coimbatore and BEAMS Hospital Mumbai — practised reproductive medicine and gynaecological endoscopy for over a decade across leading centres before opening Kokoori.

Five of those years he served as Chief Consultant of MIMS-CRAFT IVF & Laparoscopic Centre. What he learned there became the operating principle of this clinic: that fertility care is at its best when a small, senior team owns every step — diagnosis, surgery, the IVF cycle, embryology, anaesthesia, follow-up — under one roof.

That is what Kokoori has been for twenty-five years. Seven doctors, one floor on Amrita Avenue, more than a thousand babies home, and the conversations still long.

Treatments

Eight pathways — fertility, surgery and high-risk obstetrics, under one roof.

From a first diagnostic visit to a multi-cycle ART programme, from day-care endoscopy to high-risk pregnancy follow-through — every plan is written, costed, and walked through with both partners.

014 — 6 weeks per cycle

In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF / ICSI)

The complete cycle — controlled ovarian stimulation, monitored retrieval, embryology in our own laboratory, and transfer with sustained luteal support. ICSI for severe male factor.

ForTubal factor, unexplained infertility, advanced maternal age, severe male factor, prior cycle failure.
022 — 3 weeks per attempt

Controlled Ovarian Stimulation & IUI

A first, low-intervention step — gentle stimulation, ovulation tracking, and washed-and-concentrated sperm placed in the uterus at the optimal hour.

ForMild male factor, cervical factor, anovulation, unexplained sub-fertility.
03Stim + retrieval, 2 — 3 weeks

Cryopreservation

Vitrification of embryos, eggs and semen — for surplus embryos in a fresh cycle, for medical indication, or for life timing. Stored in our own laboratory.

ForOncology patients, elective preservation, frozen-embryo transfer cycles.
04Day procedure to overnight

Diagnostic & Operative Laparoscopy

Dr. Kokoori's deepest specialty. Endometriosis excision, adhesiolysis, tubal surgery, ovarian cyst management — performed minimally invasive, day-care where possible.

ForEndometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, recurrent pregnancy loss workup, tubal pathology.
05Day procedure

Hysteroscopy — diagnostic & operative

Direct visualisation of the uterine cavity, with same-session treatment of polyps, fibroids, septa and adhesions where indicated.

ForAbnormal uterine bleeding, recurrent IVF failure, intra-uterine adhesions, septate uterus.
06Single hospital stay

Laparoscopic Hysterectomy & Myomectomy

Minimal-access removal of fibroids preserving fertility, or hysterectomy where indicated — with the recovery profile of keyhole surgery, not open laparotomy.

ForSymptomatic fibroids, adenomyosis, benign pathology where minimal-access is appropriate.
07Programme dependent

Third-Party Reproductive Techniques

Coordinated donor-egg, donor-sperm and surrogacy programmes, with full counselling and adherence to the ART (Regulation) Act, India.

ForPoor ovarian reserve, premature menopause, recurrent failure, medical contraindications to pregnancy.
08Months 1 — 9

High-Risk Pregnancy Care

Specialist follow-through for pregnancies that need close watch — prior loss, advanced age, comorbidities, post-IVF, multiple gestation. Continuous shared-care.

ForBad obstetric history, advanced maternal age, medical comorbidity, post-ART pregnancy.

The journey

Six steps, from the first visit to the first photograph on the wall.

No two paths are the same — but every path follows roughly this rhythm, and every step is walked together.

01

First consultation

Visit 1

An unhurried sit-down with Dr. Kokoori or one of the senior consultants. Your story, your history, your questions. Both partners attend.

02

Investigation

Weeks 1 — 2

Hormone panel, ovarian-reserve markers (AMH, AFC), tubal patency studies, semen analysis. Hysteroscopy or laparoscopy where indicated.

03

Treatment plan

Visit 2

A written, costed plan — reviewed jointly by two doctors before being walked through with you. The lowest-intervention path that still works is the one we begin with.

04

The procedure

Cycle window

IUI, IVF, ICSI, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy — performed in our own theatre. Embryology in our own lab. Anaesthesia by Dr. Neelima R Kumar. Founder sign-off on every transfer.

05

Pregnancy care

Months 1 — 9

First-trimester monitoring here. Then either continued shared-care through delivery, or warm handover to your chosen obstetrician with full records.

06

After the baby

Beyond

A six-week visit. Sometimes a thank-you photograph for the wall. Sometimes a conversation about the next one.

Patient voices

Three years of treatment elsewhere. Within four months at Kokoori we had a plan that worked. Dr. Sivadas explained every step before doing it.

After two failed IVF cycles at a bigger chain, we came here. Dr. Sreeja redesigned the protocol completely. The honesty is what brought us back.

Questions, asked openly

The honest answers we give every first-visit couple.

If your question isn't here, it deserves a longer reply than a webpage. Please call us — or book a first visit and we will spend the time.

How long does an IVF cycle take, start to finish?

From the first day of stimulation to the pregnancy test is about four to six weeks. Add two to three weeks before that for the planning visit and any baseline scans. We do not rush the preparation phase — it is the part of the cycle that most affects the outcome.

What success rates can I expect?

Success in IVF is meaningfully different for every couple — age, ovarian reserve, cause of infertility, sperm parameters and uterine factors all reset the number. Dr. Kokoori will walk you through realistic per-cycle and cumulative odds for your specific situation during the planning visit. We do not publish a single headline rate because no headline rate is honest.

What does treatment cost?

Costs vary by treatment (IUI is the most affordable, IVF with ICSI sits in the middle, donor and surrogacy programmes are the most involved). We hand you a fully itemised, written estimate at your planning visit — no hidden additions later. Discussing money openly is part of the work; please ask.

Who exactly will see me — and will it be the same doctor each visit?

Yes. You are assigned a primary doctor from the seven at your first visit, and that doctor stays with your case throughout. Dr. Kokoori personally reviews and signs off on every cycle and every surgical case. The board model is for redundancy, not rotation — you are not handed off.

What if I just need laparoscopy, not IVF?

A substantial part of our practice is gynaecological endoscopy and minimal-access surgery — fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, hysterectomy — for patients who are not pursuing fertility treatment. Dr. Kokoori's surgical fellowships are at GEM Hospital Coimbatore and BEAMS Hospital Mumbai. Many of these cases are day-care.

How should we prepare for the first visit?

Bring any prior reports — semen analyses, hormone tests, scans, prescriptions, operation notes. If your menstrual cycle is regular, we don't need a particular day; if it is irregular, please mention this when booking. Come together if possible. We meet both partners on the first visit.

Do you accept insurance or offer EMIs?

Fertility treatment is not covered by most Indian health-insurance policies; a small number of corporate plans do include it — please bring your policy document and we will check coverage. We offer staged-payment plans for IVF and ART cycles. EMI through partnered card programmes is available.

Do you treat patients from outside Kozhikode?

Yes — a substantial part of our practice is patients from across Kerala, the Gulf and South India. We coordinate visit clustering so most of the monitoring scans can happen in a focused 10 — 14 day window.
